Rebecca has presented conference sessions focused on valuing the process of learning over the public performance of an ensemble. Investing in individual musicianship through large ensemble work gives students the tools to continue making music beyond the classroom walls.

Trauma-Informed Pedagogy

Rebecca is in the process of earning a Trauma Certificate through the Michigan State University School of Social Work. The effects of toxic stress and childhood adversity reach every corner of society. Rebecca is working to bring the tenants of trauma-informed pedagogy to the music classroom.
